The Downtown Georgetown Association (DGA), a 501(c)(6) non-profit membership is deeply committed to fostering a thriving downtown district—a place where history, community, and commerce converge. Our mission is to ensure that the downtown district remains the heartbeat of Georgetown, a thriving marketplace for local businesses and a premier destination for visitors. We achieve this by amplifying our members' presence on social media, fostering collaboration among businesses, and creating opportunities to support and promote one another.

To bring this mission to life, the DGA partners with local businesses, residents, and the City of Georgetown. We believe
that by working together, we can create a downtown that is not only a premier shopping destination but also a welcoming space where locals and visitors alike can enjoy the essence of Georgetown. Whether you’re shopping at one of
our unique boutiques, enjoying a meal at a local eatery, or simply strolling through our historic streets, you’re
contributing to the vibrancy and sustainability of our community. Our businesses are the lifeblood
of downtown, and we are dedicated to supporting them in every way possible.
Our Vision for Downtown Georgetown
Our vision for Downtown Georgetown is to create a safe, vibrant, and historic district where people can play, shop, dine, stay, and conduct business. To realize this vision, we are constantly seeking ways to enhance the downtown experience. This includes organizing premier events that draw people to our downtown district, such as First Friday Music
on the Square and Second Saturday Market Days (March – November), and the Christmas Stroll in December
now a three day event. These free, family-friendly events offer a wonderful opportunity
to connect with the community and experience the unique spirit of Georgetown, Texas.

Our community is built on a foundation of strong community spirit, where we know each other’s names and stories. We understand that when our community and city thrive, we all benefit. In Georgetown, we show up for each other, collaborate, extend a hand, and cheer each other on. We choose community over competition. This spirit of
camaraderie is the heartbeat of our business community—it drives us to promote one another, celebrate
our collective successes, and offer support during challenging times.
